2 BHK Interior Design Cost in Bangalore: Full Breakdown
A realistic room-by-room budget for a 2 BHK interior in Bangalore at three finish levels, with what each tier actually buys you.
A 2 BHK is the most common brief we get in Bangalore, and the most common source of budget confusion. Quotes range from ₹4.5 Lac to well past ₹10 Lac for what sounds like the same job. Here is where the money actually goes.
Room-by-room, essentials level (~₹4.5–5.5 Lac)
| Scope | Indicative |
|---|---|
| Modular kitchen (10–12 rft) | ₹1.6–2.2 Lac |
| Master bedroom wardrobe (8 ft) | ₹1.1–1.4 Lac |
| Second bedroom wardrobe (6 ft) | ₹85,000–1.1 Lac |
| TV unit and living storage | ₹45,000–70,000 |
| Basic false ceiling and lighting | ₹40,000–60,000 |
Essentials means BWR ply with BWP in the kitchen, laminate shutters, standard soft-close hardware, granite counter, and 2D plus 3D design. It is a complete, durable home — not a compromised one.
Premium level (~₹6–7.5 Lac)
Same footprint, better specification: BWP throughout, premium laminate or acrylic shutters, branded soft-close hardware, corner solutions and pantry pull-outs, quartz countertop, full false ceiling with cove and profile lighting across the home, wardrobe internal lighting and planned internals.
This is where most 2 BHK projects settle, and honestly where the value is best.
Luxe level (₹9 Lac+)
Veneer and lacquered glass finishes, top-tier hardware, custom lighting design with dimming scenes, feature panelling, bathroom upgrades, and loose furniture specified as part of the scheme.
What is not in any of those numbers
- Loose furniture: sofa, beds, mattresses, dining set — ₹1–2.5 Lac for a 2 BHK
- Soft furnishings: curtains, blinds, rugs — ₹40,000–1 Lac
- Appliances: chimney, hob, fridge, washing machine
- Whole-home painting if not specified
- Society interior deposit — varies by building
How to get more home for the same money
- Do fewer things properly. A superb kitchen and two well-planned wardrobes beat a thin fit-out spread across every wall.
- Skip decorative panelling. It photographs well and adds nothing to daily life.
- Put the money into lighting. Layered lighting makes a modest fit-out feel expensive; bad lighting makes an expensive one look flat.
- Keep the plumbing where it is. Moving a sink or a WC is disproportionately expensive.
- Buy hardware, not gloss.
